HESTER BATEMAN. A very rare pair of Bluebell Wine Coasters made in London in 1788 by Hester Bateman.
209679
The Wine Coasters are circular in form and display a beaded rim. The sides, however, are pierced with two beautiful horizontal bands of blue bell drops and the front is engraved with a contemporary Crest. Both are very well marked and display their original turned fruit wood bases, centred by a boss. The silver sides are also of a very good, above average gauge of silver and have a good colour. Wine Coasters are rare to find by Hester Bateman, however this is a particularly rare design.
