HESTER BATEMAN. A very fine George III Stand made in London in 1784 by Hester Bateman.


This fine piece is oval in form with a raised rim decorated with a herring bone engraved band, with a beaded border above. The stand has four elegant scroll feet decorated with flat fluting. The main body is engraved with an eclectic mix of bright cut designs including stylised flower heads. The centre is engraved with a bright cut navette shaped cartouche engraved with a contemporary Crest. This piece is in excellent condition and is very well marked on the base.
