HESTER BATEMAN - A rare George III Caddy Spoon made in London in 1784 by Hester Bateman.

The Caddy Spoon has a scallop shell bowl and the curved handle is decorated with bright cut and prick dot designs. The top of the stem is also engraved with a set of contemporary script initials. A near identical example is illustrated in Caddy Spoons by John Norie, Plate 17, fig c. The Spoon is in excellent condition and is very well marked.
