The Mustard Pot is of the drum form and displays a beaded band at the rim and base. The sides are pierced with horizontal pails interspersed with vertical bands of roundels, as well as Neo-Classical urns in ovals. The front of the Pot displays a square cartouche engraved with a set of contemporary script initials. The sides also display bright cut and prick dot bands. The high domed cover terminates in a cast urn finial and is engraved with an outer bright cut band. This example has an S scroll handle and a pierced fan shaped thumb piece. The Mustard Pot is well marked on the base and with a sterling mark on the finial. This example is in quite excellent condition and has a blue glass liner. The Mustard Pot does not possess a makers mark, however it is without doubt from the Bateman workshops.
