BATEMAN FAMILY. An extremely rare George III Wine Label made in London in 1802 by Peter, Ann & William Bateman.
280374
The Wine Label is modelled in the very rare Drapery design, being engraved with linear patterns to simulate drapery tied with ribbons. This piece is engraved with GIN, a rare title to find at this date. The label is very well marked and is engraved with a set of contemporary intials and the date 1804. Peter, Ann & William Bateman were only in partnership from 1801-1805, therefore to find pieces bearing their mark is not common.
