An extremely rare William IV Cast figural Taperstick made in London in 1834 by John & Joseph Angell.

This exceptionally rare piece is cast and modelled in the form of a Classically dressed female figure, most probably a Goddess from Antiquity. The figure holds aloft the fluted drip pan and Classically decorated socket with fixed nozzle. The domed base is chased in the Rococo manner with scrolls, crisp floral sprays and foliate motifs. The base is also engraved with the Coronet of a Duke and the script initials MR. This piece is in excellent crisp condition and is well marked. It is of the finest quality, which would be expected from these silversmiths.
