An extremely rare pair of cast 'Dragon' Sugar Nips made in Birmingham in 1858, Makers Mark of A & S.

These very rare cast Sugar Nips are finely designed to simulate a dragon in flight. The grips show the Dragons head and the wings are fully shown when the nips are open. The finger rings are decorated with scale work, to simulate the tail. Very few examples of this design of Sugar Nips are known to exist and they are very well marked on the inside of both grips. This is the first time we have seen a pair of this design.

Length: 4.5 inches.
