An extremely rare 'Linwood' Leaf Caddy Spoon made in Birmingham in 1807 by Matthew Linwood.

The Caddy Spoon has a large heart shaped bowl with serrated edge. The bowl is unusually textured to simulate the veins of the leaf. The bi-furcated handle displays a band of blue bell drops, linear bands and a vacant oval cartouche. Matthew Linwood made some of the most unusual leaf designs and this is one of his rarest spoons. His other leaf designs are shown in Caddy Spoons by Captain John Norie, Plate 45. The Spoon is in excellent condition and is very well marked on the reverse, including Matthew Linwoods conjoined makers mark.
