An extremely rare George III silver mounted Cucumber Slicer made in London in 1808 by John Reilly.

The main body of the slicer is made of ivory and is of rectangular form, with a waisted oval handle engraved with the contemporary Crest of the Hornby family. The silver mounts, and blade, are of plain design and the setting of the adjustable screws means that slices of different thickness can be cut. It would have been the grandest families who would have such an item and they are exceptionally rare.

Length: 8.25 inches, 20.63cm.
