An extremely rare Charles II Childs Patch Box, made almost certainly in London circa 1680.
365009
The Patch Box is circular in form, with a pull-off cover, die stamped with a Tudor Rose motif. The sides are decorated with punch bead and foliate designs. A similarly decorated patch box can be seen on page 52 of the Lion Collection of Boxes. The tiny size of this piece indicates that it may well have been for the use of a child. This size of Patch Box are extremely scarce. The box is unmarked but was most probably made in London circa 1680.
