An extremely fine & rare Vinaigrette made in Birmingham in 1863 by Frederick Marson.
310085
The Vinaigrette is broad rectangular in form and the waisted sides and base are engraved with stylised foliate designs on a scratch engraved ground. The cover is, most unusually, inset with panels of agate and hardstones including bloodstone, blue agate and jasper, all separated by a gold wire frame. The interior is finely gilded and displays a grille pierced and engraved with pluming, swirling, feathery scrolls. The Vinaigrette is in excellent condition and is very well marked.
