An extremely fine pair of George III Wine Coasters made in London in 1803 by John Emes.

The Wine Coasters are circular in form with everted rims decorated with reeding. The sides are also engraved with a wide band of oak leaves and acorns, which was a popular form of decoration at this date. The front displays a crossed oak branch cartouche containing a set of contemporary initials. The Coasters have attractive turned fruit wood bases, are in excellent condition and are very well marked.
