An extremely fine James I Bodkin made circa 1600-1620, most probably in London and stamped with the makers mark of a single letter 'G'.

This very fine example is of tapering hexagonal form with an eye and slot and small cup spatula at the end. Beautifully engraved on the front and the reverse with scratch engraved designs, including a stylised flower head. Bodkins are very often unmarked, however this example does possess an unidentified single letter G makers mark.

Length: 6 inches, 15cm.
