An extremely fine George IV Wine Funnel and Stand made in Edinburgh in 1824/25 by Alexander Wilkie.
310088
The Funnel is of typical form and is decorated with reeding. The bowl has a rim of foliate motifs and the centre is pierced with a stylised flower head motif. This fine piece has a cast Rococo shell side clip and its original muslin ring. The stand is circular in form with a domed centre and a rim decorated in the same manner as the main body. This piece is in excellent condition and is very well marked. As you will appreciated, it is most unusual to find a wine funnel with its original stand, especially coming from Scotland.
