An extremely fine George III cast silver gilt 'Watch' Vinaigrette made in Birmingham in 1818 by Samuel Pemberton.

The Vinaigrette is realistically modelled as a Pocket Watch and displays an outer border decorated with sea shells and flower heads. Both the hinged cover and base display a band of trailing vines and grapes around a circular engine turned panel. The suspensory ring is also chased with floral motifs and the interior grille is beautifully pierced with pluming scrolls and flower heads. This example is of an exceptional weight, is well marked and is in excellent condition.

Diameter: 1.45 inches, 3.63 cm.
