An exceptionally rare George III Wine Label made in Edinburgh in 1817 by R. Morton.

This very rare Wine Label is of a large broad rectangular form and is engraved for CLARET, in large lettering, with NO.1 below and a running fox above. This most probably refers to the best claret. Claret was an extremely popular drink in Scotland. The label is in excellent condition and may well have been a special commission.

Length: 2.2 inches, 5.5 cm.

Width: 1.1 inches, 2.75cm.
