An exceptionally rare and fine set of Britannia Standard Thistle Cups made in London in 1877 by Alexander Macrae.
218060
The Cups are modelled in the Scottish Thistle style, with lobed lower section and reeded girdle and scroll handle. The front is engraved with a contemporary Crest and each is very well marked. This is the first time we have seen a set of this design and the quality is exceptional and most unusual being made in the higher grade of silver, Britannia Standard, at this date.
