An exceptionally fine & unusual set of four George III Sauce Tureens made in London in 1796 by Richard Morrison

The Tureens stand on a circular pedestal foot which is decorated with gadrooning. The main body is unusually circular in form and also has a gadrooned rim. The lower section of the main body is decoarted with a wide band of lobing. Each piece has two reeded harp shaped side handles and the domed pull off covers are also decorated with a lobed band and terminate in a stylised artichoke finial. Both the cover and main body are engraved with a contemporary Crest with the Motto below. The Tureens are of a most unusual design, as most are boat shaped in design from this period, and they are of an exceptional weight. They are in quite excellent condition and are fully marked on both the foot and the cover.
