An exceptionally fine & unusual George IV Handbag Vinaigrette made in Birmingham in 1829 by Ledsam, Vale & Wheeler.
299231
This Vinaigrette is beautifully modelled as a handbag with sunburst designs on the front of the main body surrounding a vacant oval cartouche. The reverse is similarly engraved and the hinged cover is decorated with scale work designs. The cover opens up to reveal a grille pierced with unusual foliate motifs and the bag has a twisted ropework, arched, handle. This is one of the most unusual bag designs we have offered and is in excellent condition.
