An exceptionally fine George IV Hunting Snuff Box made in Birmingham in 1824 by Thomas Shaw.

The Snuff Box is broad rectangular in form and displays reeded incurved sides and an engine turned base surrounded by a pluming scroll frame. This outer frame is shown on the cover and encloses a very detailed raised chased Hunting Scene depicting a huntsman, in period costume, with musket and two gun dogs. The scene is portrayed within a wood, with a dwelling on the left hand side. The scene is extremely crisp and detailed and has been executed to the highest standard. The interior displays fine original gilding and is very well marked. A rare quality box in excellent condition.
