An exceptional set of four early George III Cast Candlesticks made in London in 1764 by the specialist candlestick maker, Ebenezer Coker.

£ 16,500

The Candlesticks stand on a stepped square base which is decorated with gadrooning. The central shaped shaft is baluster in form and displays an attractive section of swirl fluting at the base, as well as gadrooning and fluting up to the socket section. The detachable square nozzles display the same swirl fluting shown at the base of the shaft and both the shaft and the nozzle are engraved with the same contemporary Crest. Each piece is fully marked in the base and with the maker's mark on the capitals. All four candlesticks are in excellent condition and are of a very good weight.

Ebenezer Coker was a specialist Candlestick maker, who was working in Clerkenwell Close, when these candlesticks were made. His output is always of the finest quality.
