An exceptional and very unusual George III Neo Classical Snuffer Tray made in London in 1775 by Robert Hennell.


The Snuffer Tray is modelled in the Neo Classical tradition and has a very unusual waisted design. The rim is decorated with applied beading and the sides are pierced with plain vertical pails. The sides also display unusual drapery swags and raised Neo-Classical oval floral medallions. The silver base is engraved with a contemporary mirror cypher. Of exceptional quality and gauge, one of the finest examples of this period we have offered.
