An early george III Mug made in London by Whipham & Wright in 1767

The Mug stands on an applied stepped foot and has a baluster shaped body and everted rim. The scroll handle is decorated with leaf capping and the front of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Armorial surrounded by a floral and foliate cartouche, tied with ribbons above. The Arms are those of the Stoner family of Southampton co. Hants, with an inescutcheon of pretense for Walshe.
