A very unusual pair of Serving Tongs made in London in 1855 by Francis Higgins.

The Tongs have very unusually shaped sides with a domed top and slender upper section of the arms, all displaying a fiddle and thread pattern border. The lower section of the arms are most unusually shaped with a corrugated form, pierced with ovals and a heart shaped motif. This section is also engraved with linear designs. The Tongs are in excellent condition and are very well marked.

Length: 8.2 inches, 20.5cm.
