A very rare William IV silver mounted Preserve Pot made in London in 1835 by Reilly & Storer.


This rare piece has a heavy cut glass body, decorated with spear top motifs. The base mounts and everted rim are decorated with reeding and the hinged cover is engraved with a contemporary Crest, with the motto Essayez above. The pot has a plain harp shaped handle, detailed shell thumb piece and beautifully gilded interior. The pot is in excellent condition and is well marked. The Crest is that of the Dundas family. This branch of the family had their Seat at Duddingston, Scotland.
