A very rare Tortoiseshell Needle case, unusually modelled as a Georgian Knife Box. Made in London circa 1840 by Lund of Cornhill, London.

This very rare Tortoiseshell Needle Case is unusually modelled as a Georgian Knife Box and displays a vacant silver cartouche on the cover. The hinged cover also opens up to reveal a velvet lined interior with seven ivory divisions so that the different sizes of needle could be stored. This piece is marked Lund of Cornhill and is in excellent condition.
