A very rare set of four miniature shell dishes, for oysters. Made in London in 1810 by Samuel Whitford & George Pizey.

The Dishes are of a small size and are modelled as scallop shells. Each has a reeded carrying handle and stand on three applied winkle feet. The dishes are all in excellent condition and are very well marked. This is the first time we have offered some oyster dishes which are miniatures of the larger butter shells and it is also the first time we have seen work by these rare silversmiths.
