A very rare long handled Caddy Spoon made in Birmingham in 1872 by Hilliard & Thomason.

The Spoon has a beautifully shaped silver bowl, with flared, fluted, end to simulate a tulip in bloom. The silver section of the handle is decorated with a beaded band, however this example has a beautifully shaded and turned agate handle. This would have been an expensive piece when it was made and would have been targeted at the top end of the market. The spoon is in excellent condition and is very well marked in the bowl. Hilliard & Thomason were prolific Caddy Spoon makers in Birmingham at this date.

Length: 6.5 inches, 16.25 inches.
