A very rare George III Snuff Box made in London in 1804 by Joseph Ash.
251707
The Snuff Box is broad rectangular if form, with slightly rounded top and bottom and is decorated all over with reeding. The cover opens to reveal a finely gilded interior, however unusually, the rear reveals a second opening which is also gilded inside and which we think was used to carry toothpicks. This is also the first time we have seen a combination Snuff/Toothpick Box.
