A very rare George III Serving Slice made in Dublin in 1802 by William Doyle.
174707
The Serving Slice has a most unusually shaped blade with a raised shaped side. The scimitar shaped blade is pierced and engraved with unusual foliate motifs and roundels, as well as a rectangular cartouche, with incuse sides, containing an unusual contemporary swan Crest. The Slice is fully marked on the blade and with the crowned harp and Hibernia on the handle. William Doyle was registered as a specialist piercer and silver cutter. This is the first time we have seen this specific design from Dublin.
