A very rare George III Pocket Snuff Box made in London in 1809 by Phipps & Robinson.
199913
The Snuff Box is broad rectangular in form with crisp engine turned sides and base. The cover, most unusually, is inset with a rare panel of banded agate. This is the first time we have ever seen this agate, especially inset into a Snuff Box. The interior is finely gilded and very well marked. This unusual box displays all the characteristics of the fine work of Phipps & Robinson.
