A very rare George III Caddy Spoon made in Birmingham in 1812 by Joseph Taylor.
360051
This design is one of the rarest heart form caddy spoons and displays a wide heart shaped bowl engraved with an outer prick dot bat wing band, interspersed with ovals. This example has an unusual bi-furcated handle decorated with prick dot bands and a tear drop shaped cartouche engraved with the contemporary initial B. The stem is also engraved with foliate designs and is very well marked on the reverse.
