A very rare George III 'Acorn' Caddy Spoon made in Birmingham in 1806 by Hart & Company.

The Caddy Spoon is one of the rare Birmingham Acorns which was made by the very scarce makers, Hart & Co. Acorn Caddy Spoons are very rare, however most were made in London by Elizabeth Morley or Thomas James. The bowl is beautifully shaped and die stamped to simulate the shape and texture of the acorn. This piece has a plain bi-furcated handle and is very well marked on the side of the bowl. The spoon is in excellent consition and an identical example is shown in Norie, Plate97, Fig B.

Length: 3.5 inches, 8.75cm.
