A very fine & unusual George III Vinaigrette made in Birmingham in 1811 by Matthew Linwood.

The Vinaigrette is broad rectangular in form and is decorated, on the cover, with an outer beaded border enclosing a sunburst panel centred with a crossed laurel branch cartouche containing the name Mary. The base is engraved with a central flower head surrounded by prick dot bands. The interior displays fine original gilding and a cast Linwood grille with simulated filigree panel and central heart shaped motif and and outer beaded border.
