A very fine & unusual George III Greek Key Pocket Nutmeg Grater made in Birmingham in 1806 by Samuel Pemberton.
The Nutmeg Grater is oval in form and is decorated in a most unusual manner. The cover and base display an outer band of Greek key designs, and the sides a central twisted rope work band enclosed by prick dot bands. The box is very well made and displays a finely concealed hinge, on the base where the nutmeg would have been kept. the box is in excellent condition and is very well marked.
