A very fine pair of George III Sauce Tureens made in London in 1787 by Thomas Robins.
277654
The Sauce Tureens are Boat shaped in form and are of an unusual small size. Both pieces stand on an oval pedestal foot decorated with reeding. The main body displays an everted rim and two reeded loop handles. The domed covers terminate in a Classical urn finial. The main body and covers are engraved with a contemporary lion Crest and both are fully marked in the foot and with the makers mark, sterling mark and duty mark on the covers. The Tureens are in excellent condition and would also be attractive display items when not in use.
