A very fine pair of George III Salt Cellars made in London in 1777 by Robert Hennell.


The Salts are oval in form with a beaded rim and stand on four claw and ball feet. The sides are beautifully pierced and engraved with foilate scrolls and flower heads, in addition to bright cut bands. The front side displays an oval cartouche which is engraved with a set of contemporary script initials. Both are well marked and have blue glass liners.
