A very fine George IV Pap Boat made in London in 1823 by Joseph Angell.


The Pap Boat is of typical rectangular form with baluster sides rising to a gadrooned rim and plain pouring spout. The end is beautifully decorated with flower heads and foliate motifs, flanked by scrolls. The interior displays original pale gilding and the underside is engraved with a set of contemporary script initials contained within a garter cartouche. The Pap Boat is in excellent condition and is very well marked. These small vessels were used to feed a child with.
