A very fine George III Water/Wine Ewer made in London in 1779 by Charles Wright.

The Ewer stands on a square pedestal platform with four ball feet, which is decorated with beading. The foot rises to a Neo-Classical vase shaped main body engraved with a

contemporary Armorial, with Crest and Motto above. This is surrounded by crossed branches below and blue bell garlands above. The shaped neck rises to a beaded rim and the domed hinged cover terminates in a beaded Classical urn finial. The fruit wood handle is attached to the main body with unusual acanthus mouldings. The Jug is in excellent condition and is fully marked in the foot and with the sterling mark on the cover. The Arms, Crest and Motto are those of the Voyce family of Sudbury Suffolk and London.
