A very fine George III Vinaigrette made in Birmingham in 1818 by Matthew Linwood.

The Vinaigrette is broad rectangular in form and both the cover, base and sides are decorated with a band of roundels on a prick dot ground. Both the base and cover display a sunburst panel and the cover a cartouche engraved with E. Fisher 1843. The interior is finely gilded and displays a cast simulated filigree grille decorated with a stylised heart motif surrounded by a beaded frame.
