A very fine George III Silver Gilt Vinaigrette made in Birmingham in 1809 by Samuel Pemberton
205486
The Vinaigrette is broad rectangular in form and the cover is chased with crisp trailing vines and grapes on a matted ground. The sides and base are unusually decorated with linear corded bands and bands of roundels. The interior grille is pierced with flower heads and displays a very unusual central wheel motif containing flower heads. The grille is also engraved with Elizabeth Christie from Archd White and may well have been a love token.
