A very fine George III Salad Fork made in London in 1788 by George Smith & William Fearn,
The Salad Fork has six tines and an Old English Thread stem which is single struck. The top of the stem is engraved with a contemporary Crest issuing from the Coronet of Duke and the reverse with a set of contemporary script initials. The Fork has a very elegant shape and is in excellent condition, displaying crisp marks on the reverse. Original salad forks from the Eighteenth century are scarce.Length: 11.5 inches, 28.75cm.
