A very fine George III Helmet Milk Jug made in London in 1785 by Benjamin Mountigue.

The Jug is modelled in the Classical Helmet form and stands on a square pedestal foot which is decoarted with crimped flat fluting and reeded bands. The main body also displays a flat fluted lower section and a beaded rim. The front is engraved with a set of contemporary script initials and the jug has a reeded loop handle. This piece is in excellent condition and is very well marked in the foot.
