A very fine George III Butter Spade made in London in 1790 by George Smith & William Fearn.

The blade of the butter spade is triangular in form with a shaped edge where it meets the silver section of the handle. The example has a rounded green stained ivory handle. The spade is fully marked on the reverse of the blade.
