A very fine and rare set of ten George III Coat Buttons, in sizes, made in London circa 1775 by Gabriel Wirgman.


The buttons are circular in form and consist of four small buttons for the cuffs and six larger buttons for the front of the coat. The face of each piece is engraved with a set of contemporary initials surrounded by trailing floral and foliate designs. Each is marked with the GW makers mark for the small worker Gabriel Wirgman.

Diameter of the larger buttons: 1 inch, 2.5cm.

Diameter of the smaller buttons: 0.75cm.
