A rare William III Britannia Standard Drinking Mug made in London in 1700 by John Cory
192833
The Mug stands on a slightly spreading foot which is decorated with reeding. The main body, however, is unusually decorated with two bands of vertical lobing, flanked by bands of semi-circular motifs. The lobing is divided by a raised applied reeded girdle and this example has an S scroll handle which is also decorated with reeding. The base is very well marked and is engraved with a set of contemporary initials.
