The Jug is modelled in the unusual Helmet form and stands on a stepped circular pedestal base, which is decorated with a plain beaded band. The main body displays a lower band of flat fluting and the rim is decorated with a band of arch work. This example also has a high loop handle which is decorated with reeding. The front of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Crest and the interior of the foot displays a very crisp set of hallmarks. This piece is without doubt inspired by the Jug designs of Boulton & Fothergill, which can be seen in Adam Silver, by Robert Rowe, Plates 41 and 42. The Jug is in excellent condition.
