A rare George III Vinaigrette made in Birmingham in 1819 by John Bettridge.

The Vinaigrette is modelled as a purse and is decorated with parcel gilt designs. This example displays two outer chased bands of flower heads and the base and cover are beautifully engraved with unusual flower heads. The cover also displays a raised leaf with fruit on the top. The box has a flower head thumb piece and the interior grille is pierced and engraved with feathery scrolls and a central flower head. A rare design.
