A rare George III Silver mounted Mother of Pearl Pocket Snuff Box made, most probably, in London circa 1790.

The Snuff Box is broad rectangular in form with cut corners. The cover is beautifully engraved with unusual bands of roundels, arrow heads and twisted ropework all surrounding floral sprays and a shield shaped cartouche engraved with contemporary script initials. The sides are engraved with beaded panels containing foliate sprigs and flower heads. The silver mounts are decorated with reeding and the base is inset with a plain mother of pearl panel. The box is one of the most beautiful we have seen and has survived in exceptional condition.
