A rare George III Punch Ladle, of unusual length, made in Edinburgh in 1799 by Alexander Henderson.

The Punch Ladle has a circular bowl with raised sides and an everted rim. The base of the bowl is inset with a gold Spade Guinea, dated 1791. The unusually long, slender, stem has a Celtic point end and is engraved with a contemporary Scottish Crest with the initial G below and the Motto Alta Pete - Aim at High Things above. The Crest, Motto and initial are those of the Glenn family of Scotland. The Ladle is fully marked on the reverse of the stem and is in excellent condition.
